ଖରା, ବର୍ଷା, ଶୀତକୁ ଖାତିର ନ କରି ସେମାନେ ଦିନରାତି ସୀମାରେ ପଇଁତରା ମାରନ୍ତି। ସେମାନେ ସୀମାନ୍ତର ଜାଗ୍ରତ ପ୍ରହରୀ। କୌଣସି ମୁହୂର୍ତ୍ତରେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଶତ୍ରୁପକ୍ଷର ଗୁଳିରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଜୀବନ ଚାଲିଯାଇପାରେ। ତଥାପି ନିଜ ଜୀବନକୁ ବାଜି ଲଗାଇ ସେମାନେ ଦେଶର ସୁରକ୍ଷା କବଚ ସାଜିଛନ୍ତି। ସେନା ଦିବସ ଅବସରରେ ଏହି ବୀର ଯବାନମାନଙ୍କୁ ସଲାମ। ଭାରତୀୟ ସେନାର ପରାକାଷ୍ଠା ଓ ପରାକ୍ରମର ସମ୍ମାନ ପାଇଁ ପ୍ରତିବର୍ଷ ଜାନୁଆରୀ ୧୫କୁ ସ୍ଥଳସେନା ଦିବସ ରୂପେ ପାଳନ କରାଯାଏ । ୧୯୪୯ ମସିହା ଆଜିର ଦିନରେ ଭାରତର ଶେଷ ବ୍ରିଟିଶ କମାଣ୍ଡର ଇନ୍ ଚିଫ୍ ସାର୍ ଫ୍ରାନସିସ ବୁଚରଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଭାରତର ଫିଲ୍ଡ ମାର୍ଶଲ କେ. ଏମ୍. କରିଅପ୍ପା ଦାୟିତ୍ୱ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିଥିଲେ ।
